Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 23, 2026

This policy explains what Temperis ("we", "us") collects, why, and what we deliberately do not collect, across the temperis.pro website, the Temperis desktop application (the "App"), and the optional Temperis Brain hosted service (the "Brain"). The short version: Temperis is local-first. Your code, files, and editor memory live on your machine. The Brain processes content only in transit and does not retain it. Our telemetry counts runs; it never contains your code or prompts.

1. The App on your machine

The App runs locally. Your projects, files, chat history, agent memory, settings, and code index are stored on your device and are not sent to us. If you use only local models (e.g. Ollama), your code never leaves your machine at all.

Your API keys: keys you configure for model providers (Anthropic, OpenRouter, etc.) are stored locally on your device and are sent only to the respective provider when the App calls that provider on your behalf. They are never sent to our servers. Your use of those providers is governed by their privacy policies.

Updates: the App checks a public GitHub-hosted feed for updates, which involves standard web requests to GitHub (your IP address is visible to GitHub, per GitHub's privacy policy). You can control whether updates install automatically in Settings.

2. Licensing and activation

When you start a trial or make a purchase, we store: the email address you provide, license records (product, tier, issue/expiry dates, status), and a hash of your license key — we do not store the key itself. Activation creates a signed receipt for your installation. We use this data to issue, validate, renew, and revoke licenses, prevent trial abuse, and provide support. Legal bases (where GDPR applies): performance of a contract and our legitimate interest in preventing fraud.

3. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe as merchant of record. Stripe collects your payment details, billing information, and handles applicable taxes and fraud screening under Stripe's privacy policy. We never receive or store your full card details; we receive confirmation of purchase and the email associated with it.

4. The Brain (hosted service)

When you enable the Brain, your editor sends it the material needed to orchestrate your session: your goal/prompt, context you or the App choose to share (which can include source code), and tool results. This content is processed in transit to run your session and is not retained after the session ends. It is not used to train models, not sold, and not shared, except with infrastructure providers strictly as needed to operate the service. Model inference itself is executed by your own configured providers under your keys — the Brain does not hold your provider keys.

Service telemetry: for each Brain run we record operational counters only: a run identifier, subscription tier, a one-way hashed user identifier, turn and tool counts, duration, and outcome (e.g. completed / error). These records contain no prompts, no code, no file contents, and no tool arguments — the logging layer is technically incapable of receiving them. We use these counters to operate, secure, and improve the service.

Server logs: our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, request path, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention, rotated on a short schedule.

5. The website

temperis.pro uses no analytics trackers and sets no advertising cookies. A single browser-storage flag records that you accepted our legal terms, so we don't ask you again. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which involves a standard web request to Google (see Google's privacy policy). The trial form sends the email you enter to our licensing server (see section 2).

6. What we never do

7. Retention

License and purchase records are kept for as long as needed to honor your license and meet legal (e.g. tax/accounting) obligations. Telemetry counters are aggregate/rolling and bounded. Access logs rotate on a short schedule. Brain session content is not retained at all.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR in the EU/UK, CCPA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because we hold very little — essentially your email and license records — most requests are simple. Email support@temperis.pro and we will respond within the legally required time. Note that deleting your license records means your license keys stop working. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

9. International transfers

Our servers are located in the United States. If you use the Services from elsewhere, your data (as described above) is processed in the U.S. under safeguards appropriate to the limited data involved.

10. Children

The Services are not directed at children under 13 (or the higher minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We use TLS for all transport, store license keys only as hashes, sign activation receipts cryptographically, and restrict server access. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your personal data we will notify you as required by law.

12. Changes

We will post any changes to this policy on this page with an updated date, and make reasonable efforts to highlight material changes. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
